Sport 2012 Stamps - France - 1 stamp

One main sport event this summer : the London 2012 Olympic Games !

Unfortunately, a conflict between national postal administration and the IOC is actually underway....

The IOC is requesting huge marketing rights for each stamps issued (even for just postal use) and is limiting the use of the olympic symbols to the host city logo (and not the 5 olympic rings alone).

Following this, the French Post will not issue its usual Olympic Stamp but will only celebrate Sports (Athletics, Handball & Tennis) with a londonnian backfrop (Big Ben).



First day of issue : June 12th in Paris
2 million stamps
Facial value : 0,89€ (Worldwilde value for letters)
